TRANS NZOIA, Kenya – Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has confirmed that he will be seeking to contest for a third term in his constituency in the Tuesday, August 10, 2027, general election.
The 38-year-old politician was first elected to the National Assembly in 2017 and successfully secured his re-election for a second term in 2022 on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
Amisi, who disclosed that he was keen to defend his seat on his People’s Renaissance Movement (PM Party), was speaking at St. Michael’s Top Station Secondary School, where he presided over the kick-off of the Bursary Cheques Issuance of Saboti Constituency.
“I have woken up; I am with my people here, busy disbursing bursaries. As you can see, is Caleb hardworking or not? Should I continue serving you or not? Who wants me to vie for another term? Do you not want to lose this young man?” Amisi said amid applause from the crowd.
During the event, Amisi accepted the call to run for a third term in the cosmopolitan constituency located within Trans Nzoia County after the residents said they were ready for Season 3 of his leadership.
“If I vie with another party, will you still vote for me? You know all is not well in ODM? Do you know that I was sent away from ODM?? Did you expect me to just stay in the cold? I now have a new vehicle that is good-looking, and it is the same party that I will contest on for my re-election,” added the youthful lawmaker during the endorsement.
MP Caleb Amisi reaches out to DP Kithure Kindiki
On Sunday, September 6, 2026, Amisi extended an olive branch to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, urging him to join his newly formed political outfit.
Amisi made the remarks when he led his troops to DP Kindiki’s Tharaka Nithi backyard for the inaugural PM Party rally, a fortnight after its launch.
“When Prof. Kindiki comes here, tell him that the government he is serving is a sinking ship, so he should join the PM Party,” Amisi told the residents during a meet-the-people tour of the vote-rich region.
The MP claimed that the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration, under which DP Kindiki is serving, is a “sinking ship.”
“How many of you are saying that we need to save Prof. Kithure Kindiki? Or do you people want your own son to sink with President William Ruto? Should he join the PM Party or not?” the lawmaker posed.
The PM Party brigade storms Tharaka Nithi County
Amisi also announced that plans were underway for the party to open a new office in the region.
“Do you want us to open a PM party here? Since this is the home of our woman league chairperson, the people of Tharaka Nithi will be the first to visit the state house when I become president next year because you have been the first ones to welcome this party,” he added.
PM Party leaders, led by Amisi, touched down in Tharaka Nithi County in style for a Sunday mass and a series of rallies in Chogoria, Marima, Ndagani, and Chuka Town.
Saboti Constituency is an electoral constituency. Established ahead of the 1988 general election, it holds unique administrative significance as it hosts the Trans Nzoia County headquarters, Kitale town
It is the smallest of the five constituencies in Trans-Nzoia County, covering a total surface area of 323.6 km². The constituency has an estimated population of 387,366 people.
It is designated as constituency number 138 out of Kenya’s 290 electoral areas.
The key profile and demographics of Saboti Constituency
Despite having the smallest land mass in the county, Saboti has a high population density and features the third-highest number of administrative wards in Trans-Nzoia. It is divided into five county assembly wards.
For the 2025/2026 financial year, the constituency had an approved NG-CDF allocation of KSh 192.6 million primarily targeted toward upgrading educational facilities, school security, and bursaries.
